Day 1

Casablanca ➔ Rabat ➔ Fes

Our Morocco travel adventure begins early in the morning when your driver picks you up from your Casablanca hotel. Before leaving the city, we stop to admire the exterior of the famous Hassan II Mosque. Built right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it is one of the largest and most beautiful religious buildings in the world. From there, we drive a short distance to Rabat, the country’s official capital.

Here, you can enjoy a relaxed walk around the historic Hassan Tower and the beautiful marble tombs of past kings. We will also visit the charming Oudayas Kasbah, a picturesque blue and white neighbourhood overlooking the sea. After enjoying a fresh seafood lunch, we leave the coast and drive inland towards the spiritual heart of the country, arriving in the ancient city of Fes by late afternoon.

You will check into a beautiful traditional house called a riad, hidden inside the old medina walls. You will have the evening to rest and enjoy sweet mint tea and a wonderful local dinner in preparation for the busy days ahead.

Day 2

Fes ➔ Ifrane ➔ Azrou ➔ Merzouga

We wake up early today and leave the big city behind. Our journey will take us south into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a town often called the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’ thanks to its clean streets and alpine-style houses. Just a short drive away is the beautiful cedar forest of Azrou.

We will take a peaceful walk among the tall trees in search of the friendly wild monkeys that live there, which we will also photograph. As we continue driving, the green mountains gradually give way to a dry, dramatic landscape. We will stop for a tasty lunch in Midelt, the apple town, before entering the amazing Ziz Valley.

Here, you will see thousands of green palm trees growing in a deep river canyon, creating the perfect spot for panoramic photos. In the late afternoon, we will reach the edge of the Sahara Desert. Local guides will be waiting to take you on a magical camel ride across the giant golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

You will watch a spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune before arriving at your luxury desert camp. There, you can enjoy a delicious dinner, listen to Berber drum music around the campfire and sleep comfortably under the bright desert stars.

Day 3

Merzouga ➔ Todra Gorge ➔ Dades Valley

We highly recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise over the tranquil sand dunes. After enjoying a hot shower and a fresh breakfast at the camp, you can ride a camel or take a four-wheel-drive vehicle back to the main road.

After saying goodbye to the Sahara, we will drive towards the old market town of Rissani, where you can see how the locals trade their traditional goods. Our journey will then continue to the magnificent Todra Gorge. This massive canyon features completely straight red stone cliffs that reach hundreds of metres into the sky.

A clear, cool mountain river flows at the bottom. You will have plenty of free time to safely walk alongside the water, gaze up at the towering walls and take incredible photos of this natural wonder. After enjoying lunch near the gorge, we will continue our journey to the green Dades Valley. En route, we pass strange and wonderful rock formations that the locals call ‘monkey fingers’. We will arrive at a lovely local hotel in the Dades Valley just in time for a warm dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep surrounded by nature.

Day 4

Dades Valley ➔ Ouarzazate ➔ Ait Ben Haddou ➔ Marrakech

On our final day, we drove through the beautiful Valley of the Roses. In spring, local farmers harvest millions of pink roses here to produce natural beauty oils. We then follow the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, known as the ‘Hollywood of Africa’. Here, you can visit large film studios where many famous films have been made.

The highlight of the day is just a short drive outside the city: the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This impressive mud-brick village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, perched beautifully on the side of a hill. You will walk through its historic, narrow streets and climb to the very top to enjoy amazing views of the surrounding river and valleys.

After enjoying a delicious lunch near the kasbah, we set off on our spectacular drive over the High Atlas Mountains. We will travel carefully up the winding roads of the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, which is the highest mountain road in Morocco. You will enjoy incredible views of tiny stone villages built into the steep green cliffs. In the early evening, we will drive down the mountains and arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech. We will drop you off safely at your hotel, bringing your amazing tour to a close.
