Your Itinerary
Day 1
Marrakech to Atlas Mountains to Ait Benhaddou to Dades Valley
Your 3 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins bright and early. You will settle into a spacious air-conditioned vehicle, perhaps a comfortable Ford Tourneo or Land Cruiser Prado, and head toward the soaring High Atlas Mountains.
We will pause at the Tizi n Tichka pass for incredible photos before reaching the spectacular Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its role in epic movies like Gladiator. Following lunch, we travel through the cinematic city of Ouarzazate and along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, finally arriving in the Dades Valley for a delicious Moroccan dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 2
Dades Valley to Todra Gorges to Merzouga Desert Camp
After a fresh breakfast, our journey continues to the magnificent Todra Gorges. A river has carved a massive canyon here with giant red rock walls reaching toward the sky. After a peaceful morning walk among the cliffs, we drive south through palm filled oases and rocky desert landscapes until we reach Merzouga.
Here, you will trade the car for a camel! You will trek across the rolling Erg Chebbi dunes just in time to watch a breathtaking sunset. The night ends at a beautiful desert camp where you will enjoy dinner, sweet tea, and traditional drum music under the starry Sahara sky.
Day 3
Merzouga Desert to Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Wake up early to witness a magical desert sunrise painting the sand dunes in golden colors. After enjoying breakfast at the camp, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga to meet your driver. We then start our scenic return journey toward Marrakech.
We will take a different route through the vast arid landscapes of the Draa Valley, passing through the town of Agdz and stopping for a relaxing lunch. By the late afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains one last time before dropping you off at your accommodation in Marrakech, bringing your incredible desert adventure to a close.
