Day 1
Fes to Ifrane to Azrou to Merzouga
Your 3 days tour from Fes via Merzouga begins as we head south into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will stop in Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, before walking through the fragrant cedar forests of Azrou to meet the friendly wild monkeys.
We continue our drive, watching the landscape shift from green mountains to the rocky, arid beauty of the desert. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where you will trade the car for a camel and trek deep into the golden dunes. You will spend the night at an authentic desert camp, enjoying a traditional dinner under a brilliant, star-filled sky.
Day 2
Merzouga Desert Exploration and Nomad Visit
Wake up early to catch the magical desert sunrise before enjoying breakfast. Today is dedicated to discovering the true Sahara lifestyle. We will take a 4×4 ride around the massive dunes to visit local Berber nomad families, sharing a cup of tea in their traditional tents and learning about their fascinating culture.
We will also visit the village of Khamlia to listen to authentic Gnawa music. You have the rest of the day to relax in the sand or try some thrilling desert activities before returning to your cozy camp for a second night of campfire stories and stargazing.
Day 3
Merzouga to Ziz Valley to Fes
After a final breakfast in the desert, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga to meet your driver. We begin our scenic return journey toward Fes, taking time to admire the stunning Ziz Valley, famous for its millions of lush date palms.
We will stop for a relaxing lunch in Midelt before driving through the quiet mountain landscapes of the Middle Atlas. By the late afternoon, we will arrive back in the vibrant city of Fes, dropping you off at your accommodation to conclude your incredible desert adventure.
